Cancer.  It’s a word no one wants to hear.  When you do hear it, it typically means a long, depressing journey is ahead.  However, taking liberties from Young Simba in the Disney movie The Lion King, I take the view of “Cancer? Hah! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of cancer. Ha ha ha ha!”  From the moment of diagnosis, The Hubs and I have decided that we can let this disease dictate our lives, or we can choose to live and laugh and love.  Which one would you choose?

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

Actually I like the King James version of it:

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Proverbs 17:22

I don’t want to go all churchy on you, but fear is the only tool Satan has in his collection. When you handle the fear part as you have, your odd swing to your favor.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Cancer may be ugly, but thank God we can still wax those brows and tease that hair! Love ya girl! You are an inspiration!
